Abdominoplasty

What happens during an abdominoplasty?

During the 2-3 hour-long abdominoplasty procedure, excess skin and fat is removed.  The rectus muscle divarication can be repaired.  This helps to improve the contour of the abdomen.  A rectus divarication repair can also sometimes help with back pain and urinary incontinence.   The umbilicus (belly button) is also repositioned once the excess skin and fat is removed

Liposuction is also frequently used to help improve the overall contour .

Everybody recovers at a different pace.
