OTOPLASTY (EAR PINNING)
Why Have an Otoplasty?
An Otoplasty is a surgical procedure to correct prominent ears by setting them back closer to their head. Some people get embarrassed at the look of their ears and this procedure will give a person more confidence with their appearance.
How is an Otoplasty Performed?
An incision is made behind the ear from which the cartilage of the ear is reshaped and skin excised. An Otoplasty is a day procedure taking approximately two hours, and is performed under either general or local anaesthetic.
How long is the Recovery Period for an Otoplasty?
A head bandage is to be worn for one to two weeks. After the bandage is removed a headband is usually used. Depending on the type of work, patients are advised to take at least one week off.

GENIOPLASTY (CHIN AUGMENTATION)
Why Have a Genioplasty?
Genioplasty is a surgical procedure to improve the size or shape of the chin. The size of the chin is important to facial balance and is assessed in relation to the nose and facial profile.
How is a Genioplasty Performed?
An incision is made inside the lower lip or sometimes under the chin (if combined with another procedure e.g. face/neck lift). If the chin is to be augmented, either an implant is used or the bone of the chin is cut and moved forward to achieve the desired contour. A large chin can be reduced through the same incision. This is a day procedure taking approximately one hour, and is performed under general anaesthetic.

How long is the Recovery Period for a Genioplasty?
Bruising and swelling is expected post surgery and the stitches are dissolvable. At least one week off work is advisable.

BRACHIOPLASTY (ARM REDUCTION)
Why Have a Brachioplasty?
A Brachioplasty is a surgical procedure to remove fat and excess skin from the upper arms.
How is a Brachioplasty Performed?
An incision is made from above the elbow to the axilla (armpit) and a drain is placed in each arm. The procedure takes approximately two hours and can be either a day procedure or as an overnight stay. It is performed under a general anaesthetic, and the drains are removed the next morning.
How long is the Recovery Period for a Brachioplasty?
Both arms are bandaged for five days and strapped with tubigrip for two weeks after. Overhead arm movements are avoided for two weeks. A scar is visible after a Brachioplasty. A minimum of four days off is required depending on the type of work undertaken.Â
MEDIAL THIGH (INNER-THIGH) REDUCTION
Why Have a Medial Thigh Reduction?
Medial Thigh Reductions are a surgical procedure to reduce fat and remove excess skin from the inner thighs.
How is a Medial Thigh Reductions Performed?
An incision is made along the inner thigh up to the groin. The procedure takes approximately two hours and there are usually two drains removed after twenty-four hours. Medial Thigh Reductions can be performed as a day procedure or as an overnight stay and are performed under general anaesthetic.
How long is the Recovery Period for a Medial Thigh Reduction?
It is advised that patients have one week off work.

Why Have a Surgical Treatment for Gynaecomastia?
Gynaecomastia is a surgical treatment requested by men to reduce excessive breast tissue.
How is a Surgical Treatment for Gynaecomastia Performed?
Two small incisions are made on each breast and liposuction is used to remove excess fat and excess breast tissue from beneath the areola/nipple. The operation is a day procedure and takes approximately two hours. It is performed under a general anaesthetic
How long is the Recovery Period for a Surgical Treatment for Gynaecomastia?
It is recommended a compression garment is worn for four weeks. Bruising may last for up to six weeks post surgery, and a minimum of one week off work is required
