LIPOSUCTION

Why Have Liposuction?

Liposuction is requested by people to remove excess fat from various areas of their body, which is difficult to shift despite a healthy diet and exercise.

How is Liposuction Performed?

Small incisions are made for each small tube to be inserted to enable the fat to be removed by a vacuum. Operating time varies depending on how extensive the areas are that require surgery, as does the decision between being under a general or local anaesthetic. Small areas of liposuction are performed as a day procedure. Larger areas require an overnight hospital stay.

How Long is the Recovery Period for Liposuction?

A compression garment is worn post operatively for one to two weeks. Patients are encouraged to walk post operatively but other exercise is avoided for four weeks. The amount of time required to take off work will depend on how extensive your liposuction is and what type of work is being done. Generally it is anywhere between two to seven days.

LIPOSOFT

Why Have Liposoft?

Liposoft is a revolutionary technique that allows more accurate body contouring under a local anaesthetic. This procedure is suitable for treatment to the thighs, tummy, upper arms, neck, buttocks, knees, calves and ankles.

How is Liposoft Performed?

A small incision is made in the skin and a water cannula, a hollow stainless steel tube, is inserted by the surgeon. A water jet containing the local anaesthetic breaks up the fat cells which allows gentle suction of the excess fat. Liposoft is a day case procedure. After a couple of hours of treatment, the majority of patients are able to leave the clinic.

How long is the Recovery Period for Liposoft?

The patient can be up and about almost immediately after the procedure.

ABDOMINOPLASTY (TUMMY TUCK)

Why Have an Abdominoplasty?

An Abdominoplasty is a surgical procedure to remove excess skin and fat when diet and exercise are not helping. The procedure removes tissue from the middle and lower abdominal wall. Abdominal muscles may be tightened and abdominal hernias can be fixed. The belly button is repositioned.

How is an Abdominoplasty Performed?

An incision is made from hip to hip and two drains are placed in the pubic region. The procedure takes approximately two to three hours and is performed under general anaesthetic. The hospital stay is between two to five days.

How long is the Recovery Period for an Abdominoplasty?

The recommended time off work is three to four weeks, depending on the type of work undertaken. An abdominal binder is worn for six weeks after surgery to support the area. It is recommended that no abdominal exercises or heavy lifting be performed for four weeks after surgery.

TOTAL BODY LIFT
Why Have a Total Body Lift?

A body lift is performed to remove excess skin and fat from the abdomen and back. This procedure is often performed on patients who have lost large amounts of weight.

How is a Total Body Lift Performed?

A cut is made all the way around the torso and back and there are between two and four drains placed in the pubic and outer buttock regions. The procedure takes approximately four to six hours and is performed under general anaesthetic. The hospital stay is between five to seven days.

How long is the Recovery Period for a Total Body Lift?
